Description

Letter from William Wallace (Glasgow, 12 November 1894) responding to Crockett's letter of 10 November. Wallace firmly denies having accused Crockett of plagiarism, stating he only mentioned that such a charge had been made in Scotland. Demands Crockett retract the implication that Wallace was treating him as someone had treated Thomas Hardy. Separately addresses Andrew Lang's letter on Covenanting miracles, accepting that Lang may be able to provide such evidence but distinguishing between the general Covenanting movement and the fanatical excesses of Cameronianism.
