Description
Progress Film Co negotiating for film rights in Lilac Sunbonnet and Cinderella have asked for option on Lad's Love and Rose of the Wilderness; as general rule doesn't advise granting options as apt to prevent possible future sale but circumstances somewhat unusual; Mr Morgan very enthusiastic about Crockett's work, intends to produce Lilac Sunbonnet and Cinderella most carefully with his daughter Miss Morgan (famous film actress) playing principal lady's part; afraid if makes success of these two some other producer may snap up Lad's Love and Rose of the Wilderness before he can purchase and may trade on demand for Crockett films he hopes to make; proposes option on same terms as Lilac Sunbonnet and Cinderella until November this year on understanding if meanwhile another offer comes in Progress Film Co either purchase at once on terms arranged or abandon option; taking all circumstances into consideration thinks Mrs Crockett would do well to authorize agreement; another point: title Cinderella on film might mislead cinema theatre proprietors to suppose connection with pantomime; suggests adding defining word like A Scotch Cinderella or A Lowland Cinderella; Mr Morgan would like to know exact spots in Scotland author had in mind when wrote stories; if Mrs Crockett could tell of any person willing (at suitable fee) to show producing company round when taking film he would be very much obliged
