Description
Courteous letter explains much which reasonably worried him; had no communication regarding title change and felt more than little annoyed; cannot alter title as suggested; Joan of the Sword would be nothing; could not write with fervour; Joan of the Sword Hand stirs like trumpet and was real enough person; serial no doubt important but book also to consider; has been fortunate in titles and sure made no mistake here; printers able to overcome little difficulty of lettering and spacing; publisher would rather turn corner in any fashion than author write book not stirring own blood and readers' blood; seems strange typography considerations should justify tinkering with author's own title chosen before line written; never heard of such thing; would much like to oblige but frankly book would lose all interest and would rather change name altogether and run story on other lines
