LETTER

S.R. Crockett

Delighted to hear from John; now at home after lengthened sojourn in London and abroad; as may suppose extremely busy, this is lambing time and up shortly after four in morning; glad John likes Mr Cook (very nice man indeed, excellent painter); doesn't know when will get down to Galloway, certainly not before autumn, but don't forget bears them all in warm and cordial memory; very kindest remembrances to good and dear wife, yourself, and also Mr Cook if still with them; going to write Cook one of these days
