Recently received Nelson letter: they offer 1/- (war price 1/3d or 1/6d) editions for Cleg Kelly; royalty on 1/- or 1/3d edition 1d, on 1/6d edition 1¼d, advance £40; if 1/- contracts can be carried through simplest plan to sign new contract providing publication any price between 7d and 1/6d on graduated scale with only one advance of sum in original agreement; Mrs Crockett anxious to accept; asks if Murray willing to allow her to do so provided she pays his usual percentage (speaking from memory 25%) of whatever she receives from Nelson; royalties offered compare favourably with other publishers under similar circumstances; asks Murray reply if possible by return; PS gathers Nelson intention to pay advance when first publish book at 1/-, 1/3d, 1/6d or 7d, hope to publish first edition sometime during second half of year
