Result of recent negotiations with Nelson: they offer 1/- (war price 1/3d or 1/6d) editions for Cinderella and Kit Kennedy; royalty on 1/- or 1/3d edition 1d, on 1/6 edition 1¼d, advance £40 each; if 1/- contracts can be carried through, simplest plan to sign new contract providing publication at any price between 7d and 1/6d on graduated scale of royalties with only one advance of sum mentioned in original agreement; present agreement for 7d provides not to publish elsewhere at or below 1/- until two years after 7d editions published; taking all circumstances into consideration thinks Mrs Crockett should accept; royalties offered compare favourably with other publishers in similar circumstances; PS gathers Nelson intention to pay advance when first publish book at 1/-, 1/3d, 1/6d or 7d
