Received letter about 9th or 10th inst from Dodd asking on what date in August Hodders were going to publish Ione March; had requested Hodder to arrange definite date with Dodd satisfactory to both parties and on making inquiries at Paternoster Row ascertained that Hodder had told Dodd he proposed to publish it if at all possible about 11th of July; at once cabled to Dodd 'Ione March published to day' and Dodd now writes as follows (see 1899-015); of course Dodd got copy of revised version of book as soon as could send it to him and seeing that he has secured copyright of new title and that copyright of story in its original form is also secured do not see that need anticipate any difficulties; thought it well just to let know exactly how matter stood
